Egyptian Women's Mathematics Association (EWMA)

The Egyptian Women in Mathematics Association (EWMA) is a non-profit organization that was formed in May 2020 as a committee of the Egyptian Mathematical Society to encourage women in mathematics in Egypt. EWMA connects, empowers, and promotes female mathematicians by providing opportunities for collaboration, mentoring, and professional development.

EWMA Diversity and Inclusion Policy

At the Egyptian Women in Mathematics Association (EWMA), we believe that mathematics is for everyone. We are committed to building a welcoming and supportive community where women mathematicians—at all stages of their careers—can thrive, share ideas, and inspire one another.

A Community for All

EWMA is dedicated to empowering women in mathematics and computer science by fostering an inclusive and supportive community. We welcome members from all mathematics and computer science backgrounds, ensuring respect, encouragement, and opportunities for growth regardless of nationality, religion, age, marital status, disability, or any other aspect of identity. Together, we strive to create a thriving environment where Egyptian women in mathematics and computational sciences can excel and contribute to scientific advancement.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to:

  • Encouraging and empowering women in mathematics at every stage of their journey.
  • Creating mentorship and networking opportunities that strengthen our community.
  • Advocating for equity and fairness in the mathematical sciences.

Together, We Rise
By working together, supporting one another, and sharing our love for mathematics, we can build a future where every woman in our field has the chance to reach her full potential.

Arab Women in Mathematics Network

Theme: Mathematics Knows No Borders—Arab Women Breaking Barriers

The Arab Women in Mathematics Network is an initiative launched by the Egyptian Women in Mathematics Association (EWMA) to connect female mathematicians from across the Arab world. This network aims to promote scientific collaboration by providing a database of Arab women researchers, highlighting active participants in mathematics and computer science, and enabling research partnerships. Through this initiative, we aim to establish distinguished research groups that can enhance mathematical knowledge and research achievements. Believing that science knows no gender and no borders, EWMA is committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—especially gender equality and equal opportunities in academia. The Committee for Women in Mathematics (CWM) of the International Mathematical Union financially supports this initiative through the CWM Call 2025.

The platform will feature:

  • A mentorship program, including a database of mathematicians of all genders to support early-career researchers and foster academic guidance.
  • Student chapters allow university students from various Arab countries to share activities, events, and opportunities.
  • Discussion forums, fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among mathematicians across different regions and disciplines.

By connecting researchers, students, and mentors, the Arab Women in Mathematics Network
