The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Cairo
University, is organizing a one-day workshop on Differential Geometry in honor
of Professor Nabil Youssef. This event is part of the Faculty’s centennial
celebrations, recognizing pioneers who have shaped its mission and
distinguished reputation. He has a profound scientific legacy and a pioneering
role in establishing a global theory of Finsler geometry and its applications
in physics and mathematics. This workshop serves as a dynamic platform for researchers,
especially early-career academics, to present recent work, exchange ideas,
address emerging challenges, and foster collaboration. By doing so, it aims to
sustain Professor Youssef’s inspiring academic heritage and encourage further
innovation in the field. The program will cover core principles of differential
geometry and its diverse applications, including algebraic geometry, geometric
analysis, and theoretical physics. Special emphasis will be placed on advances
in Finsler, Riemannian, and Teleparallel geometries, particularly their
significance in modified gravity. Lectures will be presented by renowned
international and local professors, leading experts in the field, and
distinguished students of the late Professor Nabil Youssef.
The conference agenda will be published shortly.
